Overview
A collection of handheld games in the style of the old Tiger Electronics LCD handhelds — the ones with a fixed printed background and segments that blink on and off. Alongside faithful recreations, we came up with a few new games, all wrapped in a “handheld” UX so it feels like holding the actual plastic device.
How It Works
Like the originals, each game is drawn from a fixed set of LCD segments that switch on and off — the art is authored as layered SVG overlays, one per title, with sample renders across the set. A shared handheld shell provides the screen, D-pad and buttons, and each game plugs into it, so the plastic stays the same while the cartridge changes.
Current Status
The handheld UX and the segment art for several titles are in place. Like the pirate game, part of this currently lives in Claude Design, so the playable online set is still coming together — the front end and art are the parts that exist today.
